Margie Coleman Bartlett

September 16, 1928 — February 25, 2012

Margie Coleman Bartlett, 83, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Evansville, IN on September 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William Coleman and Clara Anderson Coleman McCann; was a homemaker; and was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Bartlett has volunteered for over 25 years at the Audubon Area Community Services, working there last week before entering the hospital. She was also and avid UK fan; Kentucky Colonel and member of the Ladies of the KY Colonel; and was a lifetime member of both the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her companion of 39 years, James Mitchell; children, Stephen Bartlett, Ralph Bartlett, David Bartlett and Barbara Bartlett; and a sister, Christine Fitzgerald.

Surviving are children, Joyce (Paul) Patterson and Jerry (Debbie) Bartlett of Owensboro and Shirley (John) Dieckmann of Hardinsburg; grandchildren, Jason Roberts, Jeff Roberts, Danny Bratcher, Amy Collins, Beth Bartlett, Ashley Callahan, Stephen Bartlett, Carlene Wilson, Chris Patterson, and Paula Sinnett; 12 great-grandchildren, including Megan Bartlett who lived with Mrs. Bartlett; a brother, William (Mary) Coleman of Owensboro; sisters, Wanda Casey (Smitty), Bonnie Baize, and Mary (Charles) Morgan all of Owensboro, and Bertha Allen of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are 12 noon Tuesday, February 28, 2012 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
