Margarine Greer Taylor, 98, of Owensboro died peacefully at Hillcrest Health Care with her family by her side on June 4, 2008. Born in Ohio County on September 18, 1909, Margarine was one of four children of the late Powell Greer and Mamie Ford Greer. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she loved to crochet and was a member of Southside Church of Christ and a former member of the Whitesville Church of Christ. She and her husband Chester Taylor, who died in 1993, lived in Whitesville throughout most of their married life. She later moved to Owensboro where she had been a resident of the Roosevelt House. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Wilson Greer and Ford Greer.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Farmer and her husband Harlan of Owensboro; her grandson, Roger Farmer and his wife Kathy of Owensboro; her great-grandchildren, Leslie Farmer of California and Gregory Farmer, of Owensboro; and her sister, Anna Greer Ambrose of Phoenix.
Services are at 12:00 noon Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Cates Cemetery in Whitesville. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the HELP Office.
