Margaret Payne Terry

Margaret Payne Terry, 89, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab-Hillcrest. Born in Daviess County on September 25, 1923, Mrs. Terry was the daughter of the late Roy and Hallie Payne; a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; and was retired from Mercy Hospital where she was head of housekeeping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William George Terry in 2008; a grandson, Jason Terry; a great-great-grandson, Jason Patrick Terry; brothers, Ignatius Roy Payne, Joseph R. Payne, William G. Payne, and James B. Payne; and a sister, Mary Lighton.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Mary Ann Terry, Joe and Sharon Terry, Clint and Marsha Terry, and Lynn and Edna Terry all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Cassie Stelmach, Misty Durbin, Kristy Ebelhar, Joseph Terry, Jenni Owen, Tim Terry, Kathleen Jarnigan, Karen Terry, and Will Terry; and 30 great-grandchildren.

Services are 10 A.M. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Brad Whistle officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 P.M. on Thursday and after 8:30 A.M. on Friday. Prayers will be at the funeral home at 6 P.M. on Thursday.
