Margaret Sue Chapman Stone

Margaret Sue Chapman Stone, 92, of Owensboro passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation CenterHillcrest. She was born in Daviess Co., KY on December 19, 1920 and was the daughter of the late Forrest and Mary Rowland Chapman. Margaret graduated from Daviess Co. High School in 1938 and attended Jenkin's Business School. She retired as a secretary from General Electric Company after 40 years of service. Margaret has been a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church since 1945, participated in the United Methodist Women of Settle Memorial, and the Mary Lou Phillips Sunday School class, where she volunteered as its secretary. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Edmon Stone in 1996.

Survivors include a sister, Ruth C. Hobbs of Owensboro, a nephew, Ralph E. Hobbs and wife Gayle of Owensboro, nieces, Samantha Hobbs of Bellevue, KY, Thelma Newman of Owensboro, and Jane Yeiser and husband Billy Joe of Owensboro.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 22, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with entombment following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 8:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
