Margaret A. Sparks

Margaret A. Sparks, 60, of 2079 Surrey Drive West, Owensboro, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at the home of her daughter, Tina. She was born January 15, 1947 to the late Wallace and Betty Allen Edgell in Daviess Co. She was a member of Owensboro Christian Church, and the Agape Sunday School Class. She taught Pre-school at the church for over 20 years, and she also worked as an instructional assistant for the Daviess County Board of Education for 14 years and worked in the after school program at Burns Elementary School. She loved working with children, crafts and being with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Wayne Sparks on June 11, 2007, three brothers, Wallace, Jr., Donald and Jerry Edgell, and a sister, Betty Sue Edgell.

Survivors include her daughters, Tina Palmer and her husband, Phillip Aaron Palmer of Owensboro, Tracy Bennett and her husband, Shane Bennett of Hartford; six grandchildren, Rachael and Makayla Sparks, Shelby and Cameron Bennett, Logan and Christopher Palmer; four sisters, Charlene Sikes, and her husband Fred, Paula Edgell and Linda Barrows, all of Owensboro, Scherry Howard of Providence; three brothers, Bill Edgell and his wife, Darlene of Curdsville, Anthony Edgell and his wife, Donna of Sorgho and David Edgell of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12:00 PM Friday at Owensboro Christian Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home, and after 11:00 AM Friday at the church.
