Margaret Thompson Scherm

Margaret "Maggie" Thompson Scherm, 77, of Owensboro, died Saturday, January 31, 2009, in Owensboro. She was born October 21, 1931, to the late Joseph Bernard Thompson, Sr. and Anabel Wimsatt Thompson, in Daviess County. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and reading.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Scherm, 3 brothers, Raymond, Eugene, and J.B. "Hank" Thompson, Jr., 2 sisters, Beverly Haire and Mildred Mattingly; and William J. Scherm.

Survivors include her sons, Dr. Michael Scherm and his wife, Janice of Owensboro, Tony Scherm and his wife, Linda of New Carlisle, OH, Paul Scherm and his wife, Pam of Owensboro, her daughters, Terri Ann Tong and her husband, Neal of Owensboro, Patricia Nobles and her husband, Greg of Pelham, AL, Lily McDivitt and her husband, Edwin of Owensboro; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leo, Paul, and Charles Thompson, all of Owensboro; three sisters, Virginia Hardy, Patsy Clayton, and Martha Howard, all of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12:05 PM Wednesday, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM Wednesday, at Glenn Funeral Home.
