Margaret Catherine Ebelhar Reisz

Margaret Catherine Ebelhar Reisz, 92, passed away June 7, 2011 at her home. Born October 20, 1918 in Sorgho, she was the daughter of the late Peter Jacob and Clara Catherine Weber Ebelhar. She married John Anselm Reisz on September 21, 1940 at St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Sorgho. Mrs. Reisz loved the outdoors, especially caring for her garden and flowers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Jacob Reisz; a granddaughter, Ruth Renee Reisz; a son-in-law, Ed Byrne; a sister, Lorena Stephen; and brothers, Maurice Ebelhar and Dennis Ebelhar.

Surviving are her husband of 70 years, John A. Reisz; sons, Harold (Margie) Reisz of Fresno, CA, Gerald (Suellen) Reisz of Los Alamos, NM, Mark Reisz of Rensselaer, IN, and Ralph (Roni) Reisz of Whitesville; daughter, Eleanora Byrne of Owensboro, Joann (John) Strain of Springfield, VA, Johnnie (Tony) Coomes of Atlanta, GA, Barbara (Ed) Deckard of Dayton, OH, Marilyn (Richard) Nugent of Lubbock, TX; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Reisz; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (Stansell) Ebelhar and Vincent (Mary Phoebe) Ebelhar of Sorgho; a sister, Clara Marie Gilles of Owensboro; and a sister-in-law, June Ebelhar of Owensboro.

Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Brad Whistle officiating followed by entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday with prayers at 6 p.m. and after 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
