Margaret V. Newton

Margaret Vonceile "Ceile" Newton, 85, of Philpot, went to be with her Lord on September 10, 2011. She died suddenly, at home, with her son at her side. She was born in Hancock County to the late Robert and Ethel (Wilson) Lott.

Ceile was a member of Heritage Baptist Church where she quietly served the Lord for over 35 years. She was retired from Westinghouse after many years of service. She was a loving , devoted, selfless mother, grandmother and sister. Ceile loved being with family and working in her flower garden.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, William Paul Newton; son, Barry Newton; grandson, Bryce William Newton; a brother, Robert Lott, Jr.; 4 sisters, Faye Howard, Linnie Berry, Brenda Lott and Mary Ridings.

Ceile is survived by daughter, Linda Starr Scholtens( Rich ); son, Mark Newton (Carla); grandchildren, Tonya, Brandon, Ashby, Krista and Samuel Newton, Caleb and Zach Scholtens, all of Owensboro; great grandchildren, Savannah Tooley and Kaden Newton; brothers, Donald Lott of Stanley, Kentucky and Alfred "Happy" Lott of Evansville, Indiana; special nephew, Roger Paul Newton and many other nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Pastors Ted Christman and Keith Maddy will officiate.
Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time.
