Margaret B. Cecil-Mercer, 95, of, Owensboro, passed away April 25, 2018.
Margaret was born in Daviess County on December 15, 1922. Mrs. Mercer retired from Green River Electric Corporation, in 1982, and was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Edward S Cecil, in 1991, and her second husband Jack "Calvin" Mercer, in 2008; her father, former Owensboro Police Chief Vernie Bidwell; her mother, Essye Jones Bidwell; and her sister, Mildred B. Glenn.
Mrs. Mercer is survived by a nephew, Joseph G Glenn II (Barbara Sines) and a niece, Marilyn (Bobby) Lowe, both of Owensboro. In addition, she is survived by a great-niece, Sarah Glenn (Fred) Combs of Portland, TN; great-nephews; Richard A. (Beck) Glenn of Whitesville, Tim (Denise) Lowe, and Kevin (Amy) Lowe all of Owensboro; and several great-great nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a step-daughter, Jane (Chuck) Hamlet, and step-granddaughter, Ashley Hamlet, of Bowling Green.
Funeral services are private with Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of arrangements.
