Margaret Whiteside Mason, 99, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at her home. Born In Fulton, KY on March 16, 1909, Mrs. Mason was the daughter of the late Martin Luther and Eva Boaz Whiteside. She graduated from Indiana University with degrees in music and art and was a member of Sigma Kappa social sorority. She taught music and art in high schools and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Rockport, IN and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed landscaping and was an accomplished artist and singer. She was preceded in death by her husband Atty. Paul F. Mason, Rockport, IN and a sister, Marie Moritz.
Mrs. Mason is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Newman of Owensboro; grandchildren, Robin (and Steve) Scott of Owensboro, Holly (and Fred) Jones of Edmond, OK, and Mason Newman of Lexington; and great-grandchildren, Noah Scott, Alicia Scott, Aaron Scott, Isaiah Scott, Stephen Scott, and Gabriel Scott.
Services are 10 A.M. Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home with Dr, Tom Norvell officiating followed by burial in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, IN. Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. on Friday.
