We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Maggie Blade. She passed away with her husband by her side after a long battle with COPD. Margaret was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1949. She graduated from Banks High School and attended Jefferson State College. Maggie moved to Columbia Tennessee in the late 1970s and had her son, Sidney Tyler Lofton, in March of 1979. She worked as a bookkeeper and married Bud Blade in September of 1987, with whom she had her daughter, Casi Blade, in March of 1990.
Maggie was an amazing mother and grandmother. The love she had for her grand babies was like no other. She was an avid Alabama football fan and enjoyed fall weekends watching games with her family. Her earthly fight was relentless, but she is finally at peace. Her presence is already missed greatly.
She is preceded in death by her father, Hugh Harper; mother, Lois Harper; and a brother, Billy Harper.
Maggie is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bud Blade; son, Sidney Tyler Lofton; daughter Casi (Chase) Hamby; two granddaughters, Maggie and Hazel; along with many other beloved friends and family.
A time of gathering to celebrate Maggie will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, from 4 until 7:00 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
