Margaret Hayden

Margaret Hayden, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on November 18, 2011. She was born in Daviess County to the late Romuald and Marie Johnson.

Margaret was a lifetime and very active member of St. Pius the Tenth Catholic Church. She worked as a cook for St. Pius the Tenth Catholic School for several years. Margaret was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her family. She was an avid gardener and in her younger years she and her husband, John were part of the Owensboro Twirlers square dancing group.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, John C. Hayden in 1983, her parents and two sisters, Agnes Jean Fischer and Maxine Johnson.


She is survived by a son, Joseph M. Hayden (Judy) of Owensboro; grandchildren, Joshua J. Hayden (Christie) of Owensboro and Benjamin P. Hayden of Louisville, KY; brothers, John Johnson (Jeannie) and Leo Johnson both of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.


The funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at St. Pius the Tenth Catholic Church. Fr. Bruce Fogle will officiate and burial will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory on Monday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with prayers at 7:00 pm. Friends may also visit on Tuesday after 9:00 at the funeral home.
