Margaret Marie Etherton-Dieboldt

March 21, 1926 — January 27, 2014

Margaret Marie Etherton-Dieboldt, age 87 of Elgin, Illinois passed away Monday, January 27, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at Journey Care Hospice Center in Barrington, Illinois. Margaret was born March 21, 1926 in Evansville, Indiana to the union of Thomas and Willie Bessie (Shouse) Queen. Margaret lived in Owensboro, Kentucky where she worked at the General Electric plant for several years. She had the unique opportunity in 1945 to escort along with several other young attractive ladies that worked at the plant the then actor Ronald Reagan who was touring General Electric plants as the company spokesman. She moved to Chicago about 1956 to work for the Rinn Company before moving to Elgin when the company relocated to Elgin, Illinois.
She retired in 1989 from Hoffer Plastics in South Elgin, Illinois where still today she is loved and missed by all her co-workers.
Margaret was known to be a strong willed person. When she made up her mind about something it was impossible to change it. She had a zest for life, a strong work ethic and a generous loving heart. She would help anyone in need, almost to a fault. She would give the shirt right off her back to help a complete stranger.
Margaret loved to spend time with all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She loved to travel when she could and short trips to the corner ice cream shop for a Sunday treat with the grandkids.
Survivors include her loving children, James (Virgina) Etherton, Betty J. (Bob) Wick, Edward W. (Kay) Etherton, Linda M. Clarke, Billy G. (Katie) Etherton, David L. Etherton, Kathy S. (Keith) LeRoy, and 50 Grand and Great Grand Children.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Etherton, second husband Elmer Dieboldt, a son Terry Joe Etherton, a sister Louise Hettinger and a brother Thomas Queen; two grandsons Taz B. Radloff and Kody L Radloff and her stepfather Virgil Wilson.
