Margaret Purdy Barker

Margaret Purdy Barker, 78, of Owensboro died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at her home. The Daviess County native was a retired Attendance Clerk for the Houston Independent School District and a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by a son Sammy Barker and two daughters, Jan Bethea and Susan Sharp.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Barker of Houston, Texas; one brother, Emmett Purdy, Jr. of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro. Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral Home.

Services will also be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2002 at St. John United Church of Christ in Houston, Texas. Burial will be in St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Visitation is on Monday, November 11, from 7-9 p.m. at Pat Foley Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.
