Marcella Muffett Niceley

December 26, 1919 — March 3, 2015

Marcella Muffett Niceley, 95, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Hermitage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 26, 1919 in Hancock Co., to the late James Lewis and Sena Winkler Muffett. Marcella was retired from Our Lady of Mercy Hospital as a cook after many years of service. She was a member of Wing Ave. Baptist Church. She loved her family and four children and enjoyed having many family gatherings with them, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also enjoyed raising a garden, canning, cooking, and watching U. K. basketball.

Marcella was also preceded in death by her husband, William Hale Niceley in 2009, three brothers, Delbert, Orville, and Kennard Muffett, and a sister, Ruby Ward.

Surviving are a son, William "Billy" Niceley, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, three daughters, Marcella Fulkerson and husband Bill of Evansville, IN, Phyllis Saalwachter and husband Cliff of Owensboro, and Sarah Howard and husband Robert of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Christy and Bobby Howard, and Jenny (Ward) Hays, all of Owensboro, Billy (Alecia) Fulkerson, Jr. of Newburgh, IN, and Sandra Collins of Evansville, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and a sister, Rachel Estes of Hancock Co.

Services will be 12 Noon Friday, March 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Rosehill Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
