Marcella "Marty" Ann Frantz, 86, left this earth on Friday, November 1, 2024, to begin her heavenly journey and reunite with the love of her life, George William "Bill" Frantz who has been waiting at heaven's gate for her arrival since December 28, 2006.
Marty was born October 5th, 1938, to the late Wilton "Wick" Stringer and Zelda Bivens Stringer. She was raised with older brother, the late Jimmy Stringer, and younger siblings, Danny R. Stringer and Joyce Carol Hulsey on Windy Hollow Hill in Panther, KY. She attended Daviess County High School and graduated in 1957. She met Bill while working at American Tobacco Company "Cigar Factory" and they married on February 1, 1958.
Tammy Jo was born in 1959 and in 1962 Angela Carol was born. Sadly, Angie passed away in 1964 due to a tragically short illness and was forever missed. William Todd was born in 1966, and the strength of the family was forged. Marty and Bill raised their children with an abundance of love, teaching them the joy of life and the values of prayer, kindness, and thanksgiving that adhere to them today.
Marty was a nurturing soul, the epitome of motherhood. She provided good meals, clean clothes, and a loving home.
She was fun! Summer weekends were spent at the Drive-in. And although Marty always said she couldn't swim; many good times were spent at Trail A Way Lakes and the Sportscenter Pool. On Sundays the family attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where Marty sang in the choir. Come Monday Marty was ready to begin her work week at Field Packing Company where she worked for 40 years and made many dear friends, especially Joyce McKinney. She retired from there in 2003.
Upon retirement, Marty and Bill enjoyed time with their children and grandchildren. They spent countless hours of fun with their nephew, the late Bernard Frantz and his wife Gerfriede. Laughter followed them from breakfast at Hardees to day trips.
Marty was a member of Mt. Zion Church until it closed in June 2001 and served as a member of the Mt. Zion Cemetery Committee until her death. After Mt. Zion Church closed, Marty joined Woodlawn Methodist Church where she gained another spiritual family and even more friends.
In 2021 Marty's health begin to fail with Parkinson's Disease. She was cared for by a loving family member, Shana Hartley until her death. Words cannot express how the family appreciates Shana's tender, loving and patient care of Marty until her death.
Other family members that have proceeded her in death include a daughter, Angela Carol Frantz, a brother, Jimmy Stringer (Louise) and brother-in-law, Randall Hulsey.
Marty is survived by her sister, Joyce Hulsey, brother, Danny Stringer, daughter, Tammy Frantz Henry, all of Owensboro; son, William Todd Frantz (Jenny) of Jeffersonville, IN; three grandchildren, Matthew Tyler Henry, Emily Jane Fowler (Ryan), and William Tyler Frantz, great granddaughter, Millie Ann Fowler; great grandson, Wyatt Christopher Fowler; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral service for Marty will be 2 PM Thursday, November 7, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery.
