Manuel Pete Torrez

Manuel Pete Torrez, 59, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 in Evansville, IN. He was born on October 14, 1953 in Santa Rita, NM to the late Ascencion and Grace Silva Torrez.

Manuel attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Owensboro with his family. His passion in life was helping at-risk children by working as a home school coordinator. Among Manuel's many interests he enjoyed photography, fishing, camping, NASCAR, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of over 38 years, Cindy Bruner Torrez; his four children, Angela ( Jeff) Bammel of Macomb, MI, Crissy Sexton, Amanda ( Chad) Graves, and Manuel Jr. ( Jessica) Torrez, all of Owensboro; his five siblings, Shirley ( Manuel) Trujillo, Gilbert ( Donna) Torrez, Eva Garcia, Liz (Robert) Cordeva and Michael Torrez, all who live in New Mexico. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Kaleb Sexton, Grace Adelman, Noah , Aaliyah and Brizanna Graves.

A memorial service will be held at 6pm Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. A gathering of friends will be held from 2 until the time of services on Saturday.
