Mallory Joe "Judy" Estes died Sunday, November 16, 2008 in his Maceo home. Born in 1934 to Louise Mattingly Estes and P.T. "Doots" Estes, he was a farmer and had been active within his community serving on the boards of both the Yelvington volunteer Fire Department and Daviess County Farm Bureau.
Mr. Estes is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Eubanks Estes. Other survivors include his children, David Estes and spouse Nancy of Jacksonville, Florida; Janet Estes of Owensboro; Juanita Sprague and spouse Michael of Maceo and Walter Estes of Maceo; grandchildren Bethany Estes of Owensboro, Mallory and Cora Jane Sprague of Maceo; step-grandchildren Lee Denton of Jacksonville, Amanda Calhoun of McDaniels; great-grandson Lennon Kinney of Owensboro; a brother, William Estes of Owensboro; and sisters Betty Mount of Maceo and Donna Epley of San Antonio, TX.
Services will be held at Glenn Funeral Home at 2 PM on Wednesday, with Rev. Carol Owens and Rev. Alton Lawhorn officiating, followed by internment at Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2 until 7 PM on Tuesday, and after Noon on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be made with donations to the United Methodist Children's Home, Mary Kendall Campus.
