Mahesh K. Goyal, 57, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Mr. Goyal, born in Mhow, India, on February 14, 1953, impacted every life he touched due to his charisma and compassion. He was a personable, vibrant man who would sacrifice anything for the happiness of others. To say he was hardworking is an understatement. Mr. Goyal strived to support his family from his days working for the family's contracting business in India at age 14, to being an operations supervisor for the Unilever Corporation for the past 15 years. He instilled his values in all of his family members, especially his two sons. He taught everyone how to be a better person by serving God and family, being honest, and faithfully working. Because his greatest pleasure in life was rooted in trying to make everyone else's lives better, you could always find him reading a palm and imparting priceless wisdom. Despite his calm and dignified demeanor, Mahesh was perpetually the life of the party, dancing and singing along with his favorite Bollywood music. This UK basketball, Denver Broncos, and India cricket fan has improved his world simply by being himself. He was a member of various religious organizations, was president of a poetry club in India, and was active in the March of Dimes. Nothing will ever fill the void of his physical presence but everyone he ever met will carry his memory in their hearts forever. Mr. Goyal was preceded in death by his parents, Mannalal and Leela Goyal.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Hema Goyal; sons, Shashwat Goyal and his wife Sajal Goyal of Carmel, IN and Dhawal Goyal of Chicago, IL; a brother, Dinesh Goyal and his wife Bhavna Goyal; sisters, Mrs. Madhu Shah and her husband Dr. Manilal Shah, Mrs. Usha Agrawal and her husband Mr. Govind Agrawal of Philadelphia, Mrs. Pushpa Agrawal of Chopda, India, and Mrs. Krishna Agrawal of Indore, India; nephews, Amit, Parag, Ankur, Amul, Aniket, and Raghav; nieces, Sona, Salony, Payal, and Radhika.
