Mack R. Tinsley, 84, of 3210 Girl Scout Rd., Utica, passed away on Thursday, January 17. 2008 at Jewish Heart and Lung Hospital in Louisville. He was born on August 10, 1923 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late James and Nina Jackson Tinsley. He was retired as a truck driver for Ky. Concrete Pipe Co. after 35 years and was a member of the Pleasant Point Baptist Church in Pleasant Ridge. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a graduate of the former Western High School, and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was also preceded in death by five older brothers.
Surviving is his wife of 46 years, Lena R. Acton Tinsley, a daughter and her husband, Sharon and Mike Dickens of Newburgh, In., three sons, Mack S. Tinsley and wife Wanda of Evansville, Allen L. Gilbert and wife Sandra of Flint, Mich., and James H. Tinsley, 10 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Services will be 12:00 P.M. Noon Tuesday, January 22, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
