Mable Doris Cheek

Mable Doris Cheek, 77, of Owensboro, KY, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in St. Charles, KY to the late George and Gladys Stewart Cheek. She was a retired guidance counselor for the Daviess County Board of Education. She was a member of Century Christian Church, Woodmen of the World and had been a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years. She was also a member of the Retired Kentucky Teachers Association. She was an avid bird watcher and a expert card player. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold S. Cheek, Sr. and a nephew, Harold S. Cheek, Jr.

She is survived by one brother, Frank Cheek of Madisonville, KY; three nephews, Alan Cheek of Louisville, KY, Perry Cheek of Madisonville, KY, and John Cheek of Hollywood, FL; a family friend, Dianna Williams of Owensboro, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Monday, January 3, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-5 PM and after 9 AM Monday at the funeral home. Graveside services will take place at 2:30 PM, Monday in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville, KY.
