Mabel McKinney Shadwick

Mabel McKinney Shadwick, 97, of 9464 Kentucky Highway 662, Maceo, Kentucky, died February 4, 2003 at Leisure Years Nursing Home in Owensboro. She was born in Daviess Co., Kentucky on May 14, 1905 the daughter of William and Martha Katherine Estes McKinney.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Moore in 1996, a son, Russell Shadwick in 2000 and two grandchildren, William Dennis Swaim in 1954 and Joseph Perry Swaim in 1974. Her husband, Harvey preceded her in death on June 12, 1990.

Mrs. Shadwick owned Shadwick Grocery Store in Yelvington, Kentucky along with her husband, Harvey until she retired in 1967. She was a member of Yelvington Baptist Church.

Mrs. Shadwick is survived by four daughters, Nina Moore of Leitchfield, Kentucky, Mary June Glover and Katie Swaim, both of Yelvington, and Nancy Estes of Lewisport. Eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren, also survive.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2003 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Kelly Cemetery in Maceo. Her family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2003 at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro.
