Mabel Nell Latham

Mabel Nell Chinn Latham, 89, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2011, at her home. She was born May 25, 1921 in Ohio County to the late Alvin and Nellie Wilson Chinn. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she had attended the Service Sunday school class. She had been a hospital volunteer greeter, and enjoyed traveling, reading, gardening, quilting, aqua sizing and was a great cook. Mabel Nell always had a radiant smile and a love of life she shared with everyone. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, L.H. Latham on January 24, 2011, and two brothers, Cecil Chinn and Roy Chinn.

Surviving are two sons, Stuart Latham and wife Carla of Owensboro and Scott Latham and wife Kathy of Louisville, a daughter, Suzanne Carter and husband David of Asheville, N. C., five grandchildren, Lindsay Carter, Joshua Latham and wife Elizabeth, and Julia Lloyd and husband Chris, all of Louisville, Cameron Latham and Hope Latham, both of Owensboro, and two great grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Latham and Grayson Lloyd; a niece, Gloria Chinn of Beaver Dam, and a nephew, Richard Chinn of Owensboro.

Services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, February 14, 2011, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 12:00-3:00 P.M.
