Mabel Simmons Amos

Mabel Simmons Amos, 95, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2014 in Owensboro. She was born January 20, 1919 in Breckenridge Co., KY to the late William Allen and May Watlington Simmons. She retired from the General Electric Co. after 30 years of service. She was a long-time member of Third Baptist Church and had lived in Owensboro for over 70 years. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Onis V. Amos in 1994, and two sisters, Agnes Simmons in 2006 and Anna S. Rice in 2014.

Surviving are a daughter, Kay A. Gray and husband Robert of Ramsey, N. J., a son, Onis V. "Mark" Amos, Jr. and wife Jean of Manassas, VA, two grandchildren, Mark Gray of New Jersey and Diane Miksis of Massachusetts, five great grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica Miksis of Massachusetts and Melissa, Benjamin, and Erin Gray of New Jersey.

There will be a private graveside service held at Elmwood Cemetery.
