M. Laverne "Bernie" Whiteside, 88, passed away September 19, 2017. She was born October 7, 1928 in Memphis, TN to the late Ulric and Mary Nowell Edwards. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed craft painting, shopping, and loved her family dearly.
Bernie was also preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Barnes; and brothers, Paul and Floyd Edwards.
Those left to cherish her memory are her niece, Glenda Gerteisen and her husband Bill of Owensboro; great nieces, Jennifer Cunningham and her husband Patrick of Lexington, and Stefanie Gerteisen and Jason Jones of Bowling Green; great-great niece, Karina Cunningham; and great-great nephew, Liam Cunningham.
A Chapel committal service will be 9 AM Friday, September 22, 2017 in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens with Dr. Paul Strahan officiating.
