M. Jacoba Kuhler

Sr. M. Jacoba Kuhler, of the Sorrowful Mother, 99, Carmelite Sister of the Divine Heart of Jesus (Carmel, DCJ) died April 6. 2004 at the Provincial Mother House in Kirkwood, MO. Born February 27, 1905 in Hagan, Westfalen, Germany, she entered the convent in 1929 in Sittard, Netherlands at the General Mother House. She personally knew the Foundress of the Order, Venerable Mother Mary Teresa of St. Joseph, whose Cause for Beatification is in process in Rome. Sister took her Perpetual Vows in 1936 in Milwaukee, WI and lived her religious life in the North and Central Provinces, U.S.A. From January 1978 until June 1994 she was stationed at the Carmel Home in Owensboro, where she activly served the senior residents in the Music Therapy Department and the Arts and Crafts Programs.

The Mass of Christian Burial was at the Provincial House Chapel with Burial in the Sisters Cemetery.
