M. Thelma Bennett

M. Thelma Bennett, 91, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006 at her home. Born May 7, 1915, Mrs. Bennett was the daughter of the late Duke and Carrie Reynolds Crabtree. She was a member of the Pleasant Memorial Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Bennett in 1971, a daughter, Betty Ann Bennett, and brothers, Delbert, Fred, and Gilmore Crabtree.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by sons, Billy (and his wife Barbara) Bennett of Springfield, OH and their children, Carey, Grif, and Norman; Don (and his wife Marian) Bennett of Owensboro and their children David, Laura, Aime, Emily, and Alex, and David (and his wife Jennifer) Bennett of Jamestown, OH and their children Beth, Elyse, Aimee, and Tyler; daughters, Shirley Robertson of Owensboro and her children Mike, Mark, Max, Melanie, and Mickey; Martha (and her husband Gary) Hall of Leesburg, FL and their children Mary, Pam, and Jeannie; Kim (and her husband Barry) King of Maceo and their children Matt and Mickey; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and a sister, Maude Walker of Riverside, CA.

She was also preceded in death by members of her extended family, Martin, Cecil, James , Robert, Jan and Carrie Kuegel and Claude Newman; and survived by Bill Kuegel, John and Faye Kuegel, Becky Newman, Mrs. Robert and Mrs. James Kuegel, and Mrs. Jan Kuegel.

Services are 10 A.M. Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 5664 Hwy 56, Owensboro with burial in Glenville Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and after 9 A.M. Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
