Lynn Edwin Mobley, 65, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Mobley was born June 24, 1951 in Daviess County to the late E.L. Mobley and Inelle Milton Mobley. Lynn graduated from Daviess County High School in 1969 then attended college at Murray State University. He transferred to the University of Kentucky where he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1973. Lynn later received a MBA from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1982. Initially, he worked for Monsanto in Columbia, Tennessee and in 1977 he moved back to Owensboro to work for National Southwire Aluminum where he was a manager for over 20 years. He had many fond memories from NSA, especially of the great people he worked with and thought highly of. His wish was to be remembered as a person of honesty, fairness, and integrity. Lynn was a faithful member of First Christian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder, and Chairman of the Board. One of his proudest moments was seeing the rebuilding and completion of the church after it was destroyed by fire in 2013.
In addition to his father, Mr. Mobley was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Mudd.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 42 years, Leslie Hanson Mobley; son, John Mobley and wife Stephanie; daughter, Kelly Mobley; mother, Inelle Mobley all of Owensboro; two grandsons, Alexander Thomas Mobley and Max William Mobley; step grandson, Austin Martin.
The service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 8 at First Christian Church with Reverend Chris Michaels officiating. Interment will be at noon on Thursday at Peter Cemetery in Mackville, Kentucky. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and Wednesday from 10:00 AM at First Christian Church.
