Lyman D. Moore

Lyman D. "L.D." Moore, 89, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Lonnie and Minnie Moore.

L.D. retired from Chrysler after more than 35 years of service. Although his home was here, throughout most of those years he spent several days a week at the plant in St. Louis. He enjoyed U.K. Basketball, spending time with family and relaxing on the small farm he owned. Mr. Moore was a kind and appreciative person who recently dedicated most of his time to the diligent care of his wife.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Zelma B. Moore in June of 2013; a sister, Mary Forsythe; and brothers, George and Milton Moore.

He is survived by a sister, Barbara Wand (Richard) of Lake City, FL; 2 nieces; 3 nephews; and a sister-in-law, Judy Moore of Logansport, KY.

Funeral services will be held at Noon Thursday, February 13 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Kimbrough Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until Noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
