Luther Beatley, 93, longtime resident of Owensboro, KY, passed away March 14, 2018 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, OH. Luther was a member of First Baptist Church of Owensboro. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Philippines. Luther taught mathematics at Daviess County High School from August 1949 until he retired in 1983. He was an avid sports fan and was basketball scorekeeper for 62 years and football statistician for 57 years at Daviess County. He was greatly honored by the gymnasium being named Luther Beatley Court.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Edna, who passed away in October, 1998.
He is survived by a sister, Betty Lohstroh, of Reynoldsburg, OH; niece Robyn Rice of Reynoldsburg, OH; niece Sharon Tandy of Lexington, KY; nephew Tommy Tandy of Crittenden, KY; nephew Tony Cosby of Shawnee Mission, KS and niece Mary Linda Wells of Frankfort, KY.

Services will be held at 4 pm Sunday March 18, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 12 pm to 4pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will take place at Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, KY on Monday, March 19th 2018 at 1 pm eastern.
