Lucy Winifred Roby

Lucy Winifred Roby, 76, of Owensboro, died Wednesday May 30, 2001 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born December 12, 1924 in Daviess County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Raphael Johnson and Julia Wathen Johnson. Her husband, Bernard J. Roby preceded her in death on February 22, 1993.

Mrs. Roby was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She loved quilting and being with her family.

Survivors include four sons, Junior Roby of Fordsville, KY; Thomas Roby of Hartford, KY; Steve Roby and James Roby both of Utica, KY; two daughters, Sheila Walker of Owensboro, KY; Carolyn Garrison of Utica, KY; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Lawrence Johnson of Knottsville, KY; five sisters, Martine York, Mary Edna Payne, Marie Fulkerson all of Owensboro; Rosanne Roberts & Bernadette Melton both of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday June 2, 2001 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church officiated by Father John Meredith. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday June 1, 2001 at Glenn Funeral Home and after 8:00 a.m. Saturday. Prayers will be 5:30 p.m. Friday June 1, 2001.
