Lucy R. Mason

Lucy R. "Lou" Mason, 84, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on July 29, 1930 in McLean Co., to the late Adrian Clyde and Beulah Tichenor Hutchins. She had been a hostess and manager at Gabes Restaurant for 25 years. Lou was a member of Livermore United Methodist Church and loved spending time with her family and friends and traveling. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George B. Mason on February 17, 1983, a daughter, Georgia Marlane "Marty" Mason on June 29, 1989, and a grandson, Christopher Stogner on December 9, 2006.

Surviving are four sons, James Mason of Vincennes, IN, George (Ruby) Mason, Robert (Mary) Mason, and Douglas Mason, all of Owensboro, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a sister, Della Worobetz of Owensboro, and a brother, Kenneth Hutchins of Owensboro.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 25, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio Co. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
