Lucy Proctor Hamilton

Lucy Pearl Hamilton, 91, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at her home. She was born March 26, 1933, in Butler County, KY, to the late Floyd and Millie (Brown) Proctor. Lucy was a member of First Baptist Church. She retired after 30 years from GE. At an early age, her and her family moved to Owensboro, where she was raised by her father, brother, and sisters. Lucy had a wide range of interests and hobbies that brought her joy. From watching Jeopardy to cheering for the infamous Road Runner in her favorite cartoon series, Lucy's playful spirit and love for life were evident in all that she did. In her youth, she enjoyed the thrill of riding motorcycles and remained a loyal Elvis fan throughout her life. One of Lucy's greatest joys was working on crossword puzzles, a pastime that showcased her sharp mind and love for challenges. She also cherished the time spent with her best friend, Duma Quirk, going on trips and dining out together. She will be remembered for many things, but especially her exceptional talent in making homemade banana pudding that could brighten anyone's day.

In addition to her parents, Lucy is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Randall Hamilton; sisters, Eula McIntyre, Dorothy Spalding, and Annie Martin.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Debi Stinnett (George); brother, Carlus Proctor (JoAnn); grandson, Kevin Stinnett; and several nieces and nephews.  

The funeral service for Lucy will be 2 PM Monday, April 22, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
