Lucy Carrico Goetz

Lucy Carrico Goetz, 64, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Daviess County on January 27, 1947, she was a loving wife, mother, mamaw, daughter and sister. Mrs. Goetz was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church where she was active on the Bereavement Committee and enjoyed working at the picnic. She loved crafts and doing craft shows, was an avid quilter and member of a local quilting guild; and had a stand at the Farmer's Market where she sold garden products and enjoyed talking with other vendors and customers. She was devoted to her family and was dedicated to caring for their needs. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edwin Carrico; a brother, Sam Carrico, and a sister, Carol Roby.

Surviving is her husband of 43 years, Tom Goetz; children, Joseph (Jill) Goetz, Toby Goetz, Kristie Goetz, and Emily Goetz all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Justin Goetz, Jarrett Goetz, Kinsley Goetz, Kaden Goetz, and Lilyann Goetz; her mother, Mary Virginia Boarman Carrico of Owensboro; brothers, Pat (Charlene) Carrico, Phil Carrico, David (Judy) Carrico, Mark (Mary Alice) Carrico, Frank (Michelle) Carrico, Chris (Jamie) Carrico, and Rick Carrico; sisters, Jeanette (Eddie) Smith, Judy Bielefeld, Karen (Greg) Gilmore, and Janice (Bill) Walker; and many nieces and nephews.

Services are 12 noon Thursday, May 19, 2011 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father John Meredith officiating followed by entombment in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday with prayers at 6 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
