Lucy Cecelia Young Crowe

Lucy Young Crowe, 96, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Hermitage Health Care and Rehabilitation. Born in Daviess County on November 18, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Rhienhardt "Nat" and Emma Gratzer Young; was a homemaker; and was a lifetime member of Sts Joseph and Paul Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Crowe in 1997; a son, Charles M. Crowe in 2006; and brothers and sisters, Elmer Thomas Young, Josephine Amelia Stull, Edward Fitzgerald Young, Mercedes Elizabeth Hamilton, Mary Ann Harrington, Paul Isadore Young, Theresa Margaret Hamilton, and Emma Gertrude Young.

Surviving are sons, Terry (Debbie) Crowe of Brentwood, TN and Rod (Kathryn) Crowe of Owensboro; daughters, Pat (Bob) Goetz of Philpot, Cecilia (David) McCarty of West Louisville, and Mary (Bill) Brown of Owensboro; a daughter-in-law, Jane Crowe of Owensboro; grandchildren, Duane Crowe, Kerri Jane Smith, Jeffrey Crowe, Robert Scott Goetz, James David McCarty, Jason Christopher McCarty, Jeremie Martin McCarty, Jillian Marie Cortese, Mark Elliott Crowe, Kevin Michael Crowe, John Alexander Crowe, Kelly Crowe Wathen and Ryan David Crowe; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and friends.

Services are 1 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at STS Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2011 and after 9 a.m. on Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where prayers will be said at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Sts Joseph and Paul Building Fund.
