Lucille Simon Goetz, 93, of Owensboro, Kentucky died Tuesday, August 03, 2010, at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on November 9, 1916, in Daviess County to the late Edwin and Irene Reising Simon. Mrs. Goetz was a homemaker and a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Goetz, Sr.; son, Frederick Goetz; grandchildren, Amy Goetz and Mark Green; sisters, Irma McFarland and Mary Skaggs; and brothers, Victor Simon, Clarence Simon, Joe Bill Simon, and Paul Simon.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Ann Blandford (Jack) of Sorgho and Doris Clark (Doug) of Owensboro; sons, Edward J. Goetz, Jr. (Suzanne) of Grant, FL, Robert L. Goetz (Pat) of Philpot, Thomas L. Goetz (Lucy) and Gerald W. Goetz (Lucy) all of Owensboro; 28 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Patricia Hamilton of Owensboro.
Services will be held at Noon on Friday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday and after 10 a.m. on Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be said at the funeral home at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.
