Lucille Elizabeth Thompson Carrico, 97, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Daviess County on January 7, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Eva Church Thompson; was a member of SS Joseph and Paul Catholic Church; and had worked at G.E., Sears, in the school cafeteria at SS Joseph and Paul; and as a cook for the priests at St. Stephen Cathedral. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Carrico in 1957, her son, Terry Carrico in 1996, brothers, Emil Thompson and Louis Thompson, and sisters, Ernestine Higdon, and Ruby Aud.
She is survived by granddaughters, Christina Marie Carrico and Stephanie Anne (Colt) Hochreiter of Orlando, FL; a great-granddaughter, Amber Carrico; daughter-in-law, Kay Carrico of Orlando; a brother, Herman Thompson of Whitesville; a sister, Genevieve Howard of Evansville; and nieces and nephews, Kay Clark, Pat Montgomery, Lowell Higdon, Brenda Havener, Phyllis Nicholson, Evonne Higdon, Virginia Sanders, Emilee Ward, Sheila Franey, Russell Howard, Rita Kohl, Diane Hunt, Wendell Thompson, Dennis Thompson, Elizabeth Oakes, Rick Thompson and Jeff Thompson.
Services are 10 A.M. Saturday September 13, 2008 at SS Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating followed by burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 3-8 p.m. on Friday and after on 8:30 A.M. on Saturday where prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the SS Joseph and Paul Building Fund.
