Lucile Shafer Rummage, 84 of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at her home. She was born on December 21, 1924 in Evansville to the late James L. and Mary Reasor Shafer. She was a homemaker and a very dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing bridge with her group of friends and going to the horse races. She graduated from Evansville Central High School and attended Lockyear Business College and then later moved to Owensboro in 1953. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William E. Rummage on June 22, 2004, a brother, Harold M. Shafer, and two sisters, Marguerite Pegg and Ruthe J. Miller.
Surviving are her sons, William Rummage, Jr. of Owensboro and Robert F. Rummage and wife Deborah of Elmhurst, IL, five grandchildren, Reid Rummage and Paige Rummage , both of Owensboro, and Linnea, Abigail, and Paul Rummage, all of Elmhurst, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 6 at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 8:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
