Loyd E. Hinton

Loyd E. Hinton, 54, of Owensboro passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born on September 12, 1955, he founded Industrial Mold and Machine in 1986, a passion that began as a business in his garage. Mr. Hinton had a contagious smile and practiced the art of leading by example. He had a gift for being able to take nothing and make something from it; as well as, a great passion for people, especially a love of children. He was also an eclectic collector with a vision to innovate. He enjoyed NASCAR, auctions, and UK sports. Mr. Hinton was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was an Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his fathers, Raymond A. Hinton and Richard Baird.

He is survived by a son, Stark Hinton; a granddaughter, Callie Hinton; his mother, Wilma Hagan Baird; siblings, Donna (Jim) Duffy, Eddie Hinton, and Lavida (Hal) Mischel all of Owensboro, Lonnie (Cathy) Hinton of Vienna, IL, Robin (Julie) Hinton of Lexington, and Rick (Karen) Baird of Utica; and 13 nieces and nephews.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Brad Whistle officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will from 1-8 pm. on Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be at 7 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
