Louise L. Smith

Louise Smith, 81, of Crestwood Drive, Owensboro, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 16, 2008, at her home. She was born August 31, 1926 to the late Leroy and Laura McBride Stokes in Kosciusko, MS. She was a member of Lewis Lane Baptist Church, a homemaker and volunteered at the hospital, and did a lot of volunteering at the church. She was a member of the Auxiliary of The Gideons International, and was a most loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Perry Smith; a son, Jimmie R. Smith and his wife, Bonnie of Rockport, IN; a daughter, Lynda Smith Youngman of Owensboro; eight grandchildren, Sam Youngman, Betsy Youngman, Brad Youngman and Emily Hancock, Jason Smith and his wife, Tricia, Shane Smith, Jennifer Smith, Nathan Smith and Caleb Smith; three great-grandchildren, Kaden Youngman, Jason Smith, Jr., and Brittney Smith; a brother, David Stokes of Pine Bluff, AR, and a sister, Marilyn Madden of Hattiesburg, MS; and the favorite family pet, Nieztche.

Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, at Glenn Funeral Home with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday and after 8:30 AM Tuesday at the funeral home.
