Louis William Young

Louis William "Bill" Young, 73 of Owensboro passed away Monday, February 11, 2008 at his home. Born in Hancock County on June 8, 1934, Mr. Young was the son of the late Owen and Minnie Bruner Young; was retired from Reynolds Supply, Inc where he was an Industrial Water System Supervisor; was a member of the House of Jesus Christ, Masonic Lodge #130 F&AM, and the Fraternal Order of Police; was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; and enjoyed playing pool, watching UK basketball and volunteering his time at church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Ruth Mae Ashton Young in 1998; brothers, Roy Young and Oliver Young, and sisters, Marie Young, Pearl Young, and Elizabeth Keith.

Survivors include his brother, Earl Young of Hawesville; sister, Dorothy Hendricks of Owensboro; step-sons, Michael Clark of Bethesda, MD and Bruce Clark of Owensboro; a special niece, Sue (and Ray) Jackson of Owensboro; six step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 2 P.M. Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Dorothy Crowe and his grandson, Rev. Aaron Clark, officiating followed by burial in Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 P.M. on Wednesday and after 11 A.M. on Thursday at the funeral home where there will be a Masonic service at 7 P.M. on Wednesday evening.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children or Hospice.
