Louis Franklin Purcell, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Wellington Parc. He was born July 22, 1921 in Daviess Co., KY to the late Estell and Love Brown Purcell. Louis was a retired building contractor and cabinet maker and was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. He also was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Whitaker Purcell on November 26, 2003 and his brother, Ernest Purcell, who was killed during World War II.
Surviving are his children, Marvin Purcell of Philpot, Nina Wyatt of Owensboro, and Marion Kirkpatrick of Ben Wheeler, Texas, step children, Bill Carpenter of Owensboro, Roger Carpenter of Livermore, Dorothy Woolen of Rockport, IN, Barbara Parsley of Lewisport, and Kaye Wink of Philpot, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and step great great grandchildren.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 18, at Providence United Methodist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at Providence United Methodist Church.
