Louis Kellems, 55, of 621 E. 24th. St., Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at his home. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and had been attending Good Shepherd Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he was in special forces with the Green Beret. He was a boilermaker with the Boilermakers Union Local #40 in Elizabethtown. He enjoyed traveling, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, building model airplanes and ships, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Kellems in 1978.
Surviving is his wife, Laura Kellems, his mother, Virgie Kellems of Owensboro, two sons, Joshua and his wife Sheryl Kellems and Scott Wahl of Owensboro, a daughter and her husband, Jaime K. and Cary Parrott of Gilbertsville, Ky., a brother, Richard Kellems of Belleville, Michigan, and a sister, Sharon Patton of Georgetown, Ky., and four grandchildren, Taylor Kellems, Krista & Morgan Bittel, and Suede Adams.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 31, at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home. Military honors will be preformed at the graveside by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 696.
