Louie Mitchell Horn

Louie Mitchell Horn, 66, lived on Hwy 1389, Owensboro, died Thursday, July 21, 2005, at his home. He was born September 28, 1938 to the late Junius and James Goebel Roberts Horn in Daviess County. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator working with several local companies. He was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church, Daviess County Fish and Game and enjoyed wood working crafts, bingo, playing cards and sitting on his swing.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Harold Horn and two sisters, Maxine Keir and Betty Walker, and one grandson, Johnathon Dale Boyle.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara Hamilton Horn, three sons, Edward Mitchell Horn and his wife, Janet, of Owensboro, Barry Dwayne Horn and his wife, Brenda, of Owensboro, Michael Ray Horn and his fiancee, Michelle Howard; of Owensboro, three daughters, Bonnie McKannan and her husband, Frank of Maceo, Robin Marie Basham and her husband, Bill of Maceo, Gay Boyle and her husband, Roger of Owensboro; eleven grandchildren, Forest, Austin and Felecia McKannan, Carolyn and Crystal Basham, Bradley, Kim, Lynn, Travis and Katie Horn and Andrew Boyle; three step-grandchildren, James, Debra and Timothy Boyle; six great-grandchildren, Sierra, MaKayla and Beau McKannan, Chloe Sanders, Elizabeth Basham and Kelby Horn; one brother, Bobby Ray Horn of Owensboro, two sisters, Gay Taylor of Philpot and Linda Colelman of Jena, LA; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Monday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 until 8:00 PM Saturday and 1:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday and after 9:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 333 Guthrie Street, Ste 207, Louisville, KY, 40202.
