Lou Anna Ambrose Williams, 92, of Philpot passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Daviess County on October 7, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Rollie and Goldie Mae Richardson Ambrose; was a homemaker; and was a member of the Bethabara Baptist Church. Mrs. Williams enjoyed reading and handwork, especially quilting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl W. Williams in 1996; a daughter, Ruth Ann Baldwin in 2009; a granddaughter, Cindy Osborne; a great-granddaughter, Rebekah Eckstein; sisters, Maude Chapman and Mable Ambrose; and two infant brothers.
Surviving are her children; Earl D. (Virginia) Williams of Philpot , Roger G. (Nelda) Williams of Masonville, Nancy (Frank) Yaun, Frances Eckstein, and Katherine Williams all of Philpot, Janet (Odie) Eaves of Utica, Phyllis (David) Cook of Owensboro, Donna Sue O'Kelley of Rapid City, SD, and Shelia (Jeff) Candy of Lexington; a son-in-law, Gary Baldwin of New Jersey; 16 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Shirley) Ambrose of Philpot; and sisters, Susie Cook of Philpot, and Melba Salmon and Vivian DeJarnette of Owensboro.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
