Loretta Elizabeth Cline Markham, 90, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in San Angelo, Texas. Born August 5, 1920 in Daviess County, she was the daughter of the late Stuart and Ollie Mae Pinkston Cline; owned and operated Loretta's Restaurant in Evansville; and was a member of Good Shepherd Church. She loved singing and crocheting, and especially, attending and taking part in church activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Douglas J. Markham in 1991; and brothers and sisters, Archie Cline, Sturman Cline, Harold Cline, Frank Cline, Verda Walden, Mamie Riggs, and Mavis Cline.
Surviving are children, Tonya Kaye Ash of Owensboro, Donna Sue McCool of San Angelo, TX, and Douglas (and Jan) Markham of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren, Sherleen Irby, Selena Strickland, Randy McCool, Christopher Ash, Anthony Ash, and Angela Ash; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services are 12 noon Friday, August 20, 2010 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday and after 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
