Lorena Murphy Melton

Lorena Murphy Melton, 87 of Tell City passed away Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. Born August 8, 1920, Mrs. Melton was the daughter of the late Bertie and Lena James Murphy; was retired from SIGECO where she was a secretary; and was a member of AARP and Friendship Chapter #3 of The Eastern Star, Newburgh. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman Melton in 1985, a daughter, Henrietta Fenwick in 2005, sisters, Hilda Schwartz and Geneva Mathison; and a brother, Merton Murphy.
She is survived by a daughter, Johnna Wood of Tell City; a grandchild; three great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Bernita Mogan of Tell City and Norma Foertsch of Evanston, IN.
Services are private. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Tell City. Glenn Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
