Lorena Mae Snyder Brown

April 30, 1920 — September 19, 2008

Lorena S. Brown, 88, of Owensboro died Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Harborside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 30, 1920, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late George and Nannie Vertrees Snyder; was retired from General Electric; and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved camping, crocheting, cooking, and was a devoted church worker. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a brother, George Snyder.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Archie C. Brown; a step-son, James A. Brown of Kingsport, TN; a step-daughter, Charlotte J. Conder of Owensboro; grandchildren, Mark (Peggy) Conder and Denise Conder of San Antonio, TX, and Kim (Scott) Barrett of Kingsport, TN; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Barrett, Jessie Barrett, Caleb Conder and Jacob Conder; a sister, Virgie Coomes of Owensboro; nieces and nephews, Tommy (Lewan) Coomes of Cleveland, TN, Bruce Coomes of Owensboro, Beverly Snyder and Lisa Snyder of Florida; and great-nieces and nephews, Arina Coomes, Danaly Coomes, Alea Coomes, Jeremy Coomes, and Caleb Coomes..

Services, with Pastor Mike Foraker officiating, will be 12 noon Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Seventh Day Adventist Church Building Fund, 2288 Tamarack Rd., Owensboro, KY 42301
