Lonnie Johnson

Lonnie Johnson, 55, of Stanley, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012 at the University of Louisville Hospital. He was born in Daviess Co., KY on September 18, 1957 to the late Frank and Mary Sullivan Johnson. He had worked in maintenance at Owensboro Medical Health System for about 16 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, listening to Country music, especially Elvis music, and raising pigs. Lonnie formerly owned Johnson's Household Furnishings and was of the Baptist faith. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sue Hayes, and five brothers, George, Steve, Clarence, Leonard, and James Hayes.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Sheila Chappell Johnson, a son, Frankie Johnson of Owensboro, four daughters, Shelly Wilkerson and husband Joseph of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Gail McKinney of Owensboro, Mary Robinson of Lewisport, and Lara Burnett of Owensboro, 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and two sisters, Darlene Berry and Loretta Hamilton, both of Owensboro.

Services will be 12 Noon Tuesday, October 2, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
