Lois Johnson Davis, 91, of Owensboro passed peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Her sister, brother-in-law and nieces were at her side. She was born on April 27, 1933, in Hancock County to the late Harvey and Marie Johnson. Lois worked for nineteen years at the former General Electric plant and then retired after thirteen years from Kenergy where she was honored for her dedicated service. She loved working with flowers and baking. Lois was married to the love of her life, William “Earl” Davis for 33 years. They were devoted members of First General Baptist Church of Owensboro where they volunteered on church mission trips. Her life was a testament to the power of faith as she tirelessly served others with grace and humility. Through countless acts of kindness, Lois touched the lives of many, embodying the spirit of charity and love. Her legacy of selflessness and devotion will continue to inspire and guide us.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband this past October and her older brother James “Jimmie” Johnson. She is survived by her sister, Agnes “Aggie” Powers, brother-in-law Don; her nieces Mary Donna Knipe, Marcy Powers, Cindy Powers, and Vickie Johnson; her nephews, Scott Johnson and Todd Johnson; her great niece Crysta Morris; her great nephews Aaron Holloway, Alden Knipe and Mason Grisso; she is also survived by her husband’s nephews and nieces.
The funeral service will be at noon Friday, July 5 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with same day visitation from 10:00 until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
